The bulk of the campaign is the usual barrage of set pieces and shootouts, occasionally broken up by a slow walk-n’-talk segment or the game’s standout mission that plays like Walmart-brand Hitman. The game tries some neat stuff with code breaking and a tiny hub, but it’s all very undercooked and mostly perfunctory. This is set in the mainline Black Ops continuity, and the cast changes really negatively impact the experience. ![]() This isn’t like Modern Warfare ‘19 where the recasting of classic characters made sense given that it was a reboot of the series, entirely unconnected to the original Modern Warfare trilogy.
